The HTD Metric Thread HSS (SKH) JIS Grade II Hand Tap Set is designed for producing internal metric threads in suitable workpieces. Manufactured from high-speed steel, the taps provide durable cutting edges for general threading applications. This 3-piece set includes taper, plug and bottoming taps, allowing the threading process to be carried out progressively from initial thread formation to finishing deeper or blind holes. The taper tap is designed for starting the thread, while the plug and bottoming taps provide progressively deeper engagement for completing the internal thread. The set follows JIS Grade II specifications and is available in a range of metric thread sizes to suit different requirements.
The straight-flute tap design is suitable for hand tapping applications involving appropriate metals and workpieces.
