When the stone is used dry, it will produce an extremely sharp edge on you tools. Silicon Carbide Stones are very fast cutting and whilst a thin clear oil is usually sufficient, cutting may be tempered by soaking the stone in hot petroleum jelly. Should the stone become clogged, it may be cleaned with petrol arc paraffin.
